We consider our people to be our most valuable asset. So we believe in investing in their ongoing training and development by providing high quality learning, coaching and mentoring in all areas of the business across the three divisions.
We encourage constant improvement through internal work skills development initiatives. Our program provides employees with the opportunity to further their skills either on the job or by undertaking structured training programs, such as the underground in-seam directional drilling and conveyor maintenance courses offered by The Australian College of Mining. We understand that an investment in the knowledge of our people results in an increased return for both VLI and our clients alike.
Our extensive training and development policy is also a key part of our long term recruitment and retention strategy, which aims to achieve 'employer of choice' status by attracting and retaining top quality talent within our company.
The Australian College of Mining is a registered training organisation delivering nationally accredited training in New South Wales and Queensland.
The College is a joint venture project initiated by VLI to redress the much publicised skill shortage in the mining sector.
